Drafted into the US Army in 1967 during the Vietnam War, he served two years before being discharged and returned to civilian life.  After being out of the military for almost ten years, Henry realized how much he missed the camaraderie and working with young soldiers. He rejoined the Alabama Army National Guard in 1981 and began full time duty in 1985.  He retired in 2003 after 20 years of active duty.  He came home to Tallahassee, Florida and began working for the Department of Financial Services, Bureau of Unclaimed Property.

In January of 2004, his wife Lygia encouraged him to go with their two grand daughters to open auditions held at Florida State University, home of the FSU Film School.  To his surprise, he started receiving calls for roles.   After being selected to do a few short films, Henry realized that he had fallen in love with acting.  After over three years, he has not lost that love, never knowing what type role the next phone call will bring.

Acting now brings him two joys in life.    First, he is able to enjoy the same camaraderie with the film students as they learn and work together as he had enjoyed in the military.  Second, acting has allowed him to expand his personal horizons and hopefully, contribute an occasional anecdote, which will help the film students realize their dreams.
