Originally from Stratford NJ, Ian Weir’s first love of cinema came from the music of film.  A gifted drummer and ethnic percussionist, he has recorded his original music for over ten years.  Ian began his film production education at Tallahassee Community College where he received a scholarship for his outstanding work.  He served as a teaching assistant for a video editing class helping students edit on Final Cut Pro for the following two years, during which time Ian entered the Media Production program at Florida State University.  Canvas, one of the four films Ian directed, edited, and composed music for, was recognized in the school as the best documentary of the year.  Ian later enrolled in the graduate film program at FSU, composing music to three additional shorts he also wrote and directed.  He served as cinematographer and editor on Abe, a short film that recently won a Student Emmy Award, and as art director on Rundown, which won a gold medal at the 2007 Student Academy Awards.  Now a proud graduate of the Master film program at FSU, Ian wants to continue his carrier in postproduction and film scoring, with the goal of writing and directing his own feature film.
